Parkview - Tai Tam Reservoir - Mount Butler - Jardines Lookout
31st January 2014
3.5 hours
Comments: A tough route, it did not help that it was a hot and sunny day
The Route
An easy start heading around the water catchment route around Violet hill
With great views over Repulse Bay
This is the route cut into the side of the hill
Left to head up Violet hill, right to head up The Twins or straight on to Tai Tam
Tai Tam Reservoir
That is the summit of Mt Butler
From here you head up a tree lined winding road (no cars)
A little bit of wildlife crossing my path
A rest stop at the bottom of Jacob's Ladder
and the intersection of a couple of routes
Turn up Jacob's Ladder to the summit of Mt Butler
Great view over the Tai Tam Reservoir catchment
and over the other side to Kowloon and the New Territories
Looking back at Mt Butler with the Quarry on the left
Jardine's Lookout (selfie)
Great view of downtown Hong Kong
From here it is straight down back to Parkview
