There are some beautiful places in and around Bangkok and here are just a few of them
The Palace Gardens
Remember there is a dress code for here
They do love their elephants in Thailand
So do we
Buy flowers
Take a boat ride
Visit the Jim Thompson house...no I'd never heard of him either
visit some of the many temples
or the Buddha growing in a tree
or the giant gold Buddha
or the happy Buddha
or the lying down Buddha
I think my favorite place was the war memorial, it was a real surprise, beautifully maintained and very respectful
5 minutes further down the road from the war memorial is the Bridge over the river Kwai
I can't see these catching on back in the UK
